10 Ways to Survive and Thrive in a Chronically Ill Life

Hey friend, how was your week?

I’m weirdly concerned about some of the comments I’ve been reading around the web this week... It sounds like a ton of people are experiencing the same types of health issues and it’s getting in the way of their happiness!

All I want to do is scoop everyone ‘em up in my arms and douse them in essential oils. (I said it was weird.)

You probably guessed (not by the name) that Physical Chronic Health Problems aren’t limited to infections and soreness. They also bring feelings of stress, sadness, fear, and other emotional ailments along with them.

Struggling with them can diminish your quality of life; as no medication can prevent chronic illness that causes them.

When there’s no hope, there’s no happiness.

I get that. One of the many frustrations I hear about chronically ill sufferers is that non-sufferers don’t believe them or can’t imagine how you feel.

I want you to know--I hear ya Sisters and Brothers!!

That’s why I love….I have a passion to help people turn to alternative treatments and therapies so they can seek relief and breakthrough to a life without limits.

Essential oils can help relieve minor and occasional discomfort associated with chronic conditions. Here are some of the most common oils you can use when discomfort occurs:

  1. Ginger oil.
For treating an upset stomach or nausea, ginger oil is the first remedy people choose. The oil is a natural relief to discomfort with a warming effect that not only  soothes sore joints but also enhance mental clarity.

  1. Wintergreen oil.
Wintergreen oil contains natural methyl salicylate, a compound also found in aspirin. No wonder people use it to relieve head and neck tension, joint aches, and muscle tenderness.

  1. Lavender oil.
It’s most known for helping with occasional sleeplessness and anxious feelings. Inhaling lavender has shown analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties thus it can do right for your immune system and your mental health.

  1. Pine oil.
This oil supports cartilage and joint function, so people with joint aches or arthritis can use it to soothe their constant discomfort. It can also relieve tension, fatigue, anxious feelings, and elevate your mood.

  1. Rosemary oil.
Rosemary is a favorite herb used in cooking, but besides that, it’s found to be one of the most beneficial and widely used essential oils. When used in aromatherapy, Rosemary is aimed at relieving discomfort because studies have found it has analgesic properties. It can serve as a useful method for easing certain discomforts in the body.

  1. Oregano oil.
Oregano essential oil is a robust purifying agent full of antioxidants and is used to support the immune system. The antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals that damage the cells. When you use this oil this oil, you’ll be able to increase and balance your respiratory and digestive functions. It’s most powerful when used internally or topically with a carrier oil.

  1. Rose oil.
During menstruation, many women experience abdominal cramping. When paired with conventional treatment, rose oil aromatherapy can help relieve discomfort associated with menstrual periods. Also, it may be useful in reducing discomfort caused by kidney stones (along with conventional medication treatment).

  1. Evening primrose oil.
Another oil that’s excellent for relieving menstrual-related discomfort. Primrose is a treatment for PMS and menopausal symptoms, breast tenderness, and reducing inflammation.

  1. Clary sage oil.
Clary sage can be found in teas, cooking, aromatherapy, and natural medicine treatments. It’s a part of the mint family and the oil contains antioxidants that provide anti-inflammatory effects when used in an essential oil massage. The earthy-smelling oil can also help reduce anxious feelings, calm emotions, and improve mood.

  1. Bergamot.
Bergamot is a sweet citrus oil that can help to eliminate irritability, relieve restlessness and soothe away tension. An excellent choice for aromatherapy, bergamot promotes feelings of overall well-being and can reduce skin outbreaks (like those that come with dry, flaky, irritated skin.) You can use it to clean minor scrapes and scratches due to its germ destroying properties.

It’s essential to not let anything keep you from living your life the way you want to live it, especially discomfort. Live your best life for your best self and take care of you.

Remember that none of these essential oils can cure your residual aches that lead to discomfort. However, when used as an adjunct treatment to conventional treatment, they can help relieve chronic health problems and improve your overall well-being and health.
