You’re all fired up.
You got a wicked product or service that you are itching to get out to the world!
Or maybe it’s already out there, and you cannot stop thinking about it, posting about it and showing it off.
You want it to sell, you want to make money, you want to live la vida loca! (sidenote: what ever happened to Ricky Martin? I miss that guy.)
Woohoo! I’m so proud of you.
But let’s hold up, take a breath, and get right down diggity into your social media message.
It can be so easy to get a little too excited and sell your product or service in the wrong way.
I’m talking soft sell over hard sell.
I’m talking branding and messaging over promoting.
I’m talking about connecting with your followers and your followers to-be with social media content that embodies you and your message.
It’s okay to get emotional, in fact — I straight-up encourage it!
Every photo and caption in your feed, whether it’s on Facebook or Insta, should be an accurate and awesome representation of you and your brand.
It’s gotta be consistent and should make people want to know more about you, your product or the service you’re offering.
Let your light shine through baby, this is your chance to be the person you want to be!
So let’s figure out how to create posts that get your message across to your ideal client — without you having to spend hours a day on your social media.
I’ve got three tips for you to do just that!
- Inspiration is Your Best Friend
This first option for social media messaging is one of my faves.
Instead of saying “hey you, buy this” — try giving your audience more than just a sales pitch.
Inspire the heck outta them.
Is there a quote you love that relates to your biz? Or a funny quote that would grab your audience’s attention?
Quotes are serious game-changers because they are so relatable!

The key is to find something to post or share that ignites a feeling in your ideal client.
And also relates to your core values.
This is the kind of content I love to post because it uplifts my followers and has the ability to strike up a cool conversation.
Which is another tip I gotta throw down….always have a Call to Action or CTA.
At the end of every post, ask your followers a question, or ask them to visit your webpage, or give them a link to your latest ebook — whatever you do, don’t leave them hanging! Offer up the next step in a clear and concise way.
Don’t waste an opportunity to engage even further with your audience.
2. Give your audience a behind-the-scenes sneak peek
We’re all in it every day.
We go about our lives, doing what we do, kicking ass and taking names.
And we forget how unique we are!
To the real estate agent drinking artisan tea, who’s working 9 to 5 way up North, my life looks pretty darn different.
I coach amazing femtrepreneurs, I jet around the world, I hit up juice bars and snazzy gyms...I’m unique and so are you!
Do you create ebooks for popular platforms?
Do you sell essential oils?
Do you make handmade dresses out of natural materials?
People want to see HOW you do it!
Do an Instagram stories showing you making a dress.
Post a photo of you writing your ebook.
Write a recipe for an oils blend!
Show off your process (without giving away your secrets…) and you’ve got content forever!
Don’t underestimate how special and interesting you and your biz are!
People love to feel like they got an exclusive window into another person’s world.
3. Don’t Sacrifice Quality for Quantity
I can’t stress it enough….don’t be posting all willy-nilly because you feel pressured to post.
As important as it is to be consistent, you don’t want to sacrifice the quality of any photo, link or caption you’re putting out there in the world.
And being consistent doesn’t have to mean posting every single day, it can mean posting three times a week, or five times a week.
“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”
Haha, it’s true.
If you can’t post engaging content, then don’t post anything at all.
Take time building your content.
Get some nice photos taken of you and/or your product.
Make sure your captions are error free, spellcheck is your friend!
And only post content that once again, embodies you and your brand.
I hope this was helpful.
Really, your goal is to be hover-worthy….you know that moment when you’re scrolling through your feed and you pause because something caught your eye?
That’s what you want to achieve.
Because then you have someone’s attention, and you can then bring them back to your website, start speaking directly to them and sell them that beautiful product or service you’re all fired up about.
You got this!
